ADOPTION

There are certain conditions to be fulfilled before you can apply to the Family Court for adoption of a child in Singapore. There are also certain non legal matters a couple should deliberate before deciding whether to adopt.

For instance, have you considered whether you can back out of an Adoption Order after it has been granted? What if you find out subsequently that the child is suffering from some illness after the adoption order is granted? Are you liable for the child's well being and maintenance after the Adoption Order is granted, even if you do not wish to do so due to supervening events? What if the natural parents refuse to give their consent or revoke their consent after it has been given? Can a natural parent demand for access to the child subsequently after the Adoption Order is granted?

If you have decided to adopt a child and wish to find out more about the process of adoption, you may call us at 6534 1328 or submit to us the following information for a preliminary consultation.
